Halkidiki Beaches

Halkidiki is one of the most iconic places in Greece. There are villages in every corner of your eye both in the west and the east side and each one has its own contact with the sea, many of which are awarded with blue flags (a certification for the quality of the waters, being clear and blue).

Why should you visit them? Well they are unique to each other thus there are many reasons to do so. It really depends on what you ask from your vacation in Halkidiki. There are so many options here! Do you need to relax on the beautiful sandy coasts with your significant other? Do you want to have a wonderful time with your family or friends in chill and clear waters?

You can do both on halkidiki’s beaches. It’s ideal for children due to the well-temperatured and passive waters but also an amazing place for adults who want to spend quality time in quality beaches.

The large peninsula in the northwestern Aegean Sea, resembling a hand has three “fingers” (though in Greek these peninsulas are often referred to as “legs”). The first one is called Kassandra and it’s the most developed of the three. Some honorable mentions there are Sani beach (which is very luxurious), Siviri, Kallithea and Posidi beach which all have golden sand and a breathtaking natural environment making them a fantastic spot to swim and tranquil.

Sithonia, the second peninsula in the greater peninsula of Halkidiki is a more mysterious region. With the many hushed and secretive locations is a top-pick for a romantic evening in front of the sea. Don’t miss the beach of Vourvourou, one of the best holiday destinations there which is even considered a landmark by many for the big rocky coasts or maybe the beach of Ammouliani, with a sea full of corals to explore.

In conclusion, when we are talking about beaches, Halkidiki has it all. With thousands of tourists every summer it’s one of the top to-visit destinations and one of the many reasons for that is the amazing beaches located there.
