You will have ample time when we get to Vergina to see the UNESCO World Heritage Site, the Museum of the Royal Tombs of Aigai (Vergina), which houses the tombs of Macedonian monarchs, among them Alexander the Great’s father, Philip II.

Constructed around an old burial site within a sizable earth mound, the museum is specially designed to preserve the tombs while showcasing artefacts and portraying the burial ground in its pre-excavation state. Take in the sights of the four exhibits (tombs and artefacts) and don’t miss the two extant specimens of ancient Greek artwork, one of which shows a hunting scene and the other the rape of Persephone.
