Kerkini Lake, on the other hand, isn’t just for birds. The wetlands are home to a variety of fish species, while guests come to appreciate the fresh air and intriguing beauty of the lake.
The hills and mountains that surround the lake give it an unrivaled beauty. Take photographs of riverbank woods that would look great on a postcard before ascending the vantage points for some spectacular vistas. The higher you climb, the more you’ll realize how big Lake Kerkini is.
Around the man-made lake, there is a diverse bird population of over 300 species. Furthermore, the surrounding region is renowned as one of Europe’s greatest birding sites. Pelicans, cormorants, and herons, among other species, can be seen nearby.
The manmade lake attracts a large number of people who come to enjoy its breathtaking beauty.
